Grandmother : It’s so nice that you came. It turned to a great bayram. Like the old time bayrams.
Brother : Hıh. The old time bayrams speech of Grandmother has started.
Grandmother : Of course, is it a lie? Nowadays, bayram means vacation. Everybody goes somewhere. We used to go to your grandfathers, don’t you remember Nur?
Mother : Wouldn’t I remember mummy? We were cooking for days. Deserts, pastries, pies, everything.
Brother : You are still doing them mummy?

Father : We used to wake up early in the morning of Bayrams,
Zeynep : Used to wear new clothes,
Brother : Used to get out to collect candies.
Grandmother : Now, the children have mobile phone in their hand instead of candies.
Mother : All the neighbors used to visit each other in my time. There is nobody left now. No one knocks the door, everybody is on vacation.
Aslı : But we are here!

Grandmother : Aslıcığım wouldn’t you get more sarma?
Aslı : No, thank you. Everything is delicious. Ellerinize sağlık*. (*phrase: literally
means “health to your hands” it used for “thank for cooking”, “good cooking” )
Mother : Afiyet olsun.
Grandmother : Made them for you. Come on, afiyet olsun.
