“It’s So Turkish” is a project composed of short films that aim to teach foreigners how Turkish is used in everyday life while introducing various elements of Turkish culture.
This project is a series of videos for “Link Turkish” the Turkish language education program prepared by Ayşin Önder for levels A1 and A2 and for sections called “Language and Culture” presented in the digital and paper version of the textbooks. The content, subject and grammar structure of each video is prepared in parallel to the relevant chapter.
Before shooting the films, 82 foreigners between the ages of 16 and 52 who had resided in Turkey for at least two years, were surveyed about Turkish culture and asked “What are the ten characteristics that people should know about Turkish culture?” The elements the films would cover were identified through assessing the responses to this survey.
